The world famous Kovalam Beach and Kerala Backwaters are the two most popular tourist destinations in Kerala. Kovalam Beach is a great place to both explore and relax. Houseboats offer a glimpse into a world of water that has changed very little over time. Itinerary Route:  Trivandrum - Kovalam - Alleppey - Cochin

Day 1: Arrive Trivandrum - Transfer to Kovalam Beach

You will be met in Trivandrum by a Tour Packages India Representative and escorted to your Kovalam Beach hotel by private AC car where you'll check into your hotel for the night. Spend the evening strolling the boardwalk, walking on the beach, or exploring the shady labyrinthe of lagoons running throughout the backside of the town.

Day 2: Kovalam Beach to Alleppey Houseboat (3 hour drive)

Enjoy the scenic drive north to Alleppey where you'll board your private houseboat for the night. Relax onboard while the cook prepares your meals and the navigator guides the boat through the lagoons and lakes. Buy fresh fish from floating vendors, hop off for tender coconut juice, observe the lifestyle of a people who spend their lives on the backwaters.

Day 3: Alleppey to Cochin for Departure (2 hours)

After disembarking your houseboat, you'll be driven to Cochin for your departure.

Houseboat Selection

Backwater houseboats come in varying degrees of luxury. The deluxe variety will be equipped with AC, fine furniture, plush carpets, modern bathrooms, and entertainment centers. Non-AC houseboats are of a more spartan nature but still provide all the basics including attached bathroom, kitchen, living areas, etc. The one commonality is that they ALL provide a cook, a navigator and the unique Kerala Backwater experience.
