Bhubaneshwar is connected by Air, Rail and Bus. Most any southbound train departing from Kolkatta stops in Bhubaneshwar. Most domestic airlines connect from all the major India hubs. Private buses run from Kolkatta every hour making it relatively easy to get to.
Bhubaneshwar and Puri place a large emphasis on a vegetarian diet and some excellent veg dishes can be found. Orya food is typically quite spicy and prepared with significantly less oil used in cooking than other parts of India. It's a treat for the taste buds.
Famous temples, World Heritage Sites, great beaches, amazing sand sculptures, brackish lakes, dolphins, birdwatching...a lot of diversity in a short amount of time.
