Launched in the quaint heritage harbor town of Cochin,  travelling upward into the spicy cool of the Cardamom Hills for a tour of tea plantations and a trek through the wildlife sanctuary of Periyar, descend to the banks of the Alleppey backwaters, and wind it up with a couple of relaxing days on the shores of Kovalam Beach. That's a lot of  Kerala to be captivated by!

CAPTIVATING KERALA BUDGET TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Cochin Arrival

You will be greeted by a Tour Packages India Representative and driven to to your hotel. Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands.In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali Dance overlooking the Cochin Harbor.

Day 2: Cochin to Munnar (5 Hour Drive)

After breakfast, you'll be driven through the Cardamom Hills up to Munnar - famous for rolling hillsides of tea plantations. Dinner and overnight in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar

Spend the day sightseeing - trek up into the clouds, go rock climbing and rappeling, go on an elephant safari, take a paddleboat ride on Shikara Lake, visit the Atukkad Waterfalls and Mattupetti Dam, take in the old-world charm of the Chithirapuram tea plantation.

Day 4: Munnar to Periyar (3 Hour Drive)

Take another wonderfully scenic drive through the hilly countryside en route to Periyar. Visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve. Spend the evening exploring nearby Kumily where every spice grown in Kerala is sold - you'll know you've arrived by the aromatic atmosphere.

Day 5: Periyar to Alleppey (4 hour drive)

Enjoy the downhill drive into the backwaters of Alleppey where you'll spend the next two nights. Kick back and relax on the shores of this beautiful backwater slice of paradise.

Day 6: Alleppey

Spend the day taking in life on the waterways of Kerala - rent a canoe or cruise in a houseboat, buy the catch-of-the-day from floating fish vendors for your hotel cook to prepare, hop on/hop off to experience the local scenes along the way, treat yourself to tender coconut juice and tropical fruits, relax to the sounds of nature throughout your stay.

Day 7: Alleppey to Kovalam (4 hour drive)

Continue your travels down the coast to the world famous beach resort town of Kovalam. Long an international draw, you'll find it a fascinating and enjoyable way to wind up this tour.

Day 8: Kovalam

A day of leisure, a night of pleasure...stroll the boardwalk, explore the lagoons hidden behind the beachfront shops, hang out on the beach watching the fishermen bring in their fresh catch, relax at a rooftop restaurant and watch the sunset...a nice finishing touch to your extended week in the wonderland of Kerala.

Day 9: Kovalam to Trivandrum for Departure

You will be driven to your point of departure in Trivandrum.
