GLINTING KERALA BUDGET TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Cochin Arrival

You will be greeted by a Tour Packages India Representative and driven to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali Dance overlooking the Cochin Harbor.

Day 2: Cochin

Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands.

Day 3: Cochin to Periyar (117 km / 4 hour drive)

Visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve. Spend the evening exploring nearby Kumily where every spice grown in Kerala is sold - you'll know you've arrived by the aromatic atmosphere.

Day 4: Periyar to Kumarakom on the Backwaters (95 km / 3 hour drive)

Descend to the backwaters of Kumarkom - the Rice Bowl of Kerala. Kumarkom rests along the shores of Lake Vembanad, the largest freshwater lake in Kerala. Abundant in fish and fowl, coconut and palm groves and rice paddies, it's a virtual feast for the eyes. Relax and take it all in under nature's canopy.

Day 5: Kumarakom

Spend the day enjoying the beautiful backwaters - rent a canoe or houseboat for a day's tour of local canals, lagoons and hidden waterways. Pay a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary - home to migratory flocks as far away as Siberia - an ornithologist's dream. Relax over a fresh fish dinner prepared Kerala style.

Day 6: Kumarakom to Kovalam Beach (150 km / 4 hour drive)

Continue your travels down the coast to the world famous beach resort town of Kovalam. Long an international draw, you'll find it a fascinating and enjoyable way to wind down the tour.

Day 7: Kovalam

A day of leisure, a night of pleasure...stroll the boardwalk, explore the lagoons hidden behind the beachfront shops, hang out on the beach watching the fishermen bring in their fresh catch, relax at a rooftop restaurant and watch the sunset...a nice finishing touch to your shining week in Kerala.

Day 8: Kovalam to Trivandrum Departure

You will be driven to your point of departure in Trivandrum.
