TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Delhi Arrival
You will be greeted at the airport by a Tour Packages India Representative and escorted to your hotel by private AC car. Our Representative will assist you with check-in and offer you a briefing on your tour program.
Day 2: Delhi to Agra (205 km / 5 hours)
Full day city tour including Red Fort, Chandini Chowk, Jama Masjid, Rajghat, India Gate, President House (from out side), Lotus temple and Qutab Minar. Evening spent as you like.
Day 3: Agra
Morning visit to the Taj Mahal, afternoon to the Agra Fort, an evening marble craftsmanship demonstration.
Day 4: Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (235 km / 5 hours)
Stop off at Fatehpur Sikri en route to Jaipur. Rest of day free after Jaipur check-in.
Day 5: Jaipur
Half day excursion to Amber Fort to visit Sheesh Mahal, Ganesh Pol, Shila Devi Temple, Kesar Kyari Bagh. Climb up to the fort on an elephant (subject to elephant availability). Spend the afternoon sightseeing around Jaipur visiting Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), The City Palace, and Jantar Mantar.
Day 6: Jaipur to Pushkar (140 km / 3.5 hours)
Afternoon walking tour of Pushkar visiting Bazaar and temples. Special evening Pooja ceremony on the ghats with a Hindu priest.
Day 7: Pushkar to Udaipur (260 km / 5.5 hours)
Evening boat ride (common boat) on Lake Pichola - visit Jag Mandir Island.
Day 8: Udaipur
City tour to City Palace on Lake Pichola, Jagdish Temple, Sahelion- Ki -Bari (the "ladies garden"), the beautiful Pratap Memorial gardens overlooking Fateh Sagar Lake, the Museum of Folk Art, the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal.
Day 9: Udaipur to Jodhpur (285 km / 6 hours)
Drive to Jodhpur stopping off along the way to tour Ranakpur temples.
Day 10: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (290 km / 5.5 hours)
In Jodhpur, visit Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada. Later, drive to Jaisalmer and spend the evening as you like.
Day 11: Jaisalmer
City tour to the Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli, Nathmal ki Haveli, Gadi Sagar Lake & Tank, Chhatriyan. Enjoy and evening visit to the sand dunes for a camel ride at sunset.
Day 12: Jaisalmer to Bikaner (325 km / 6 hours)
During the evening in Bikaner, visit the Camel Breeding Farm.
Day 13: Bikaner to Mandawa (200 km / 4 hours)
Morning visit in Bikaner to Junagarh Fort before driving to Mandawa. Take an afternoon walking tour of Mandawa in the Shekawati Region to see the painted havelis.
Day 14: Mandawa to Delhi (265 km / 6 hours) - Fly to Chennai
A day of travel.
Day 15: Chennai to Mamallapuram
Spend the morning exploring Chennai. Drive to Mamallapuram in the afternoon and spend the evening in leisure.
Day 16: Mamallapuram
Take the 'History Walk of Mamallapuram' including a snake charmer and a visit to a stone sculpture studio. Enjoy a traditional South Indian lunch. Spend the evening as you like.
Day 17: Mamallapuram to Bangalore via Kancheepuram (350 km)
Stop off in Kanchipuram for lunch. Continue to Bangalore in the afternoon.
Day 18: Bangalore to Mysore
Explore Bangalore - the Garden City of the South. On the way to Mysore, stop off in Channapatna to tour lacquerware shops.
Day 19: Mysore
Explore Mysore palaces, gardens, shady avenues and sacred temples. Take an afternoon excursion to Srirangapattinum - an island fortress town on the bank of the Cauvery River. Later, visit the 2,000 year old Chamundi Hill Temple. Resting at an altitude of 1,062 meters, a 7-story 40 meter high tower dominates the temple. The views of Mysore are breathtaking.
Day 20: Mysore to Ooty via Coonoor (110 km / 4 hours)
On the way to Coonnor, stop off at Ooty (Udagamandalam) - commonly referred to as the "Queen of the Blue Mountains". Located at an altitude of 2,286 meters, Ooty was the first established hill station (early 19th century) in India as the summer capital of the British Raj Madras Gov't. Popular tourist attractions include the Botanical Gardens, Lake, Doddabetta, Mukurti Peak, the Pykara Dam, and sprawling tea plantations. In the afternoon, board the steam Toy Train for the trip from Ooty to Coonoor which offers spectacular views of the precipitous eastern slopes of the Nilgiri Hills.
Day 21: Coonoor to Cochin (250 km / 5.5 hours)
Travel to Cochin and spend the rest of the day as you like.
Day 22: Cochin
Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands. In the evening, attend a Kathakali Dance performance.
Day 23: Cochin to Periyar (165 km / 4.5 hours)
Drive to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Ghats. The sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Covering nearly 800 sq.km., the sanctuary hosts a vast number of mammal, bird, reptile, amphibians, fish and butterfly species. In the afternoon, take a guided Plantation Tour followed by an elephant ride.
Day 24: Periyar to Alleppey (165 km / 4. 5 hours)
Drive down to Alleppey and check in to your houseboat for the night.
Day 25: Alleppey to Kovalam
Drive to Kovalam Beach, check in, spend the day as you like.
Day 26: Kovalam
A day of leisure, a night of pleasure...stroll the boardwalk, explore the lagoons hidden behind the beachfront shops, hang out on the beach watching the fishermen bring in their fresh catch, relax at a rooftop restaurant and watch the sunset...a nice finishing touch to your week in the wonderland of Kerala. (No transport will be provided.)
Day 27: Kovalam to Cochin for Departure
Transfer to the Cochin International Airport for departure.
