Best Time: Spring and Summer - since a good deal of this tour takes place at high altitudes it's a good time to escape the summer heat. But if you enjoy snow and winter sports then Shimla and Manali are a must in the Winter.

Day 1 : Delhi ArrivalYou will be greeted upon arrival in Delhi by a Tour Packages India Representative who will escort you to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. Day 2 : DelhiAfter breakfast, embark on a day of sightseeing around Delhi. (See "Local Attractions" for a detailed list of Delhi highlights.) Delhi is estimated to be over 5,000 years old - it is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times throughout its history. The population of Delhi is a heterogeneous mix of people originating from every corner of India. Undoubtedly, this will become obvious during your tour through the city. Delhi is by far the most cosmopolitan city in India and a true traveler's delight. Day 3 : Delhi to Haridwar (220 km / 4 hour drive)Take a scenic morning drive to Haridwar (The Gateway to Gods) and check-in to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. Spend the afternoon and evening taking in the sights of Haridwar (see "Local Attractions" for touriist highlights.) Day 4 : HaridwarEnjoy a day's excursion to Rishikesh - The Yoga Capital of the World and The Gateway to the Himalayas (25 km) where the River Ganges . Day 5 : Haridwar to Shimla (280 km / 5 hour drive)Undertake the wonderfully scenic drive up to Shimla where you'll spend the next two nights. Spend the evening as you like. Day 6 : ShimlaAfter breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Shimla. Visit Kufri, a small hill station 13 km away. While there, visit the Himalayan Wildlife Zoo which hosts rare antelopes, wild cats, and beautiful birds including the state bird of Himachal, the Himalayan Monal. Also take time to visit the Indira Tourist Park, near the Himalayan Nature Park, and take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan foothills. A few kilometers/miles away you'll find Naldhera, another tiny hill station, famous for it's scenic beauty and colonial architecture as well as hosting India's oldest 9-hole Golf Course. In the evening, walk around Shimla and visit Scandal Point, the center of all public life. Don't miss the Scotland Church and the surrounding British-era buildings on your way back to the hotel. Day 7: Shimla to Manali (265 km / 6 hour drive)Embark upon the upward journey to Manali (elev. 2,050 m / 6,398 ft ). During the ride enjoy the picturesque journey which includes sights like the Beas-Sutlej Link Project, Pandoh Dam, and the Kullu Shawl Factory. Upon arrival in Manali, check in to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. Spend the remainder of the day in leisure. Day 8 : ManaliTour Manali and visit the Vashishtha, Manu, Gayatri, and Hadmimba temples along with the local Tibetan Monastery. Nearby, pay a visit to Vasisht, an appealing mountainside village and a favorite location for visitors due to its hot sulphur springs and unique cultural traditions. Located on a steep slope, Vasisht is culture unto itself - from interesting people wearing their traditional ornaments and clothing to the distinctive traditional houses and local architecture. Day 9 : Manali to Chandigarh (280 km / 6 hour drive)Arrive in Chandigarh in early afternoon and spend the remainder of the day seeing the sights. ("Local Attractions") Day 10 : Chandigarh to Amritsar (230 km / 5 hour drive)Drive to Amritsar and spend the afternoon and evening seeing the sights which would include the Golden Temple. Day 11 : Amritsar to Delhi (via Train)Catch the morning train to Delhi. Upon arrival check-in to your hotel and spend the evening as you like. Day 12 : Delhi DepartureAfter morning check-out and transfer to point of departure. Extend or Customize Your Tour: We would be happy to assist with additional travel and hotel arrangements.
