Getting to Cochin

Being Kerala's only metropolis, Cochin is the perfect jump off point for this tour. An international airport, a major railway hub, and public/private bus services make Cochin highly accessible from all points in India.

Day 1 : Cochin Arrival

You will be met in Cochin by a Tour Packages India Representative who will escort you to your hotel. Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands. See "Local Attractions" for a comprehensive list of things to do. In the evening enjoy a Kathakali dance show after dinner.

Day 2 : Cochin to Munnar (4 Hour Drive)

After breakfast, you'll be driven through the Cardamom Hills to Munnar - famous for rolling hillsides of tea plantations. Dinner and overnight in Munnar.

Day 3 : Munnar

Spend the day sightseeing - trek up into the clouds, go rock climbing and rappeling, go on an elephant safari - see "Local Attractions" for more things to do in Munnar.

Day 4 : Munnar to Periyar (3 Hour Drive)

Take another wonderfully scenic drive through the hilly countryside en route to Periyar. Visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve. Spend the night.

Day 5 : Periyar to Alleppey Houseboat (4 Hour Drive)

Spend the morning exploring Thekkady/Periyar and the neighboring spice town of Kumily. Later, enjoy the downhill drive the backwaters of Alleppey where you'll board your private houseboat for the night. For more details, visit "The Houseboat Experience"

Day 6 : Alleppey to Cochin for Departure (3 Hour Drive)

Disembark and enjoy the scenic drive to Cochin for onward travel.
