3 Nights / 4 Days

Explore the most sacred river in India: the Ganges. Witness the ritualistic life represented on the banks of the Ganges: ancient and sacred burial ceremonies, the burning ghats; take a boat ride and explore Varanasi from the water - ever vivid and lively.

Itinerary Route: Delhi - Varanasi - Delhi

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

You will be greeted at the airport by a Tour Packages India Representative and escorted to your hotel by private AC car where you'll spend the night.

Day 2: Delhi to Varanasi (via Air)

After breakfast, you'll be escorted back to the airport for the short flight to Varanasi where another Tour Packages India Agent will meet and escort you to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. Spend the evening as you wish. Evenings are a nice time to take a boat ride on the Ganges. You'll find quite a few restaurant listings in "Where to Eat".

Day 3: Varanasi

Board an early morning boat at the riverbanks for a cruise on the Ganges River. The western banks have a string of ghats which the pilgrims occupy during their stay. At dawn, the ghats are abuzz with activity as devotees offer prayers to the rising sun and perform religious rituals. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later visit the Bharat Mata Temple which has on display a giant bas relief map of India in marble. Take a drive through the largest residential university of Asia - Banaras Hindu University. Founded by Pundit Madan Mohan Malviya, the university houses an Art Gallery as well as the Mosque of Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb. Stop over at the Bharat Kala Bhavan where you can see some of the finest miniatures on display in India. In the afternoon, tour the Sarnath, the buried Buddhist city where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Sarnath was a renowned school of learning from 6th century B.C. to 12th century A.D.

Day 4: Varanasi to Delhi (via Air)

After breakfast and a morning of sightseeing, you'll be transferred to the Varanasi Airport for your flight back to Delhi
