MUGHALS AND MAHARAJAS OF INDIA TOUR

Visit the historic palaces and forts of the great Mughals and Maharajas. Travel through Rajasthan to some of the most scenic sites to be experienced - the towering forts of Jodhpur and Khimsar, captivating palaces throughout the tour, the majestic Taj Mahal, the peaceful town of Udaipur far removed from the hustle and bustle of the ordinary.
Itinerary Route: Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Nimaj - Udaipur - Jodhpur - Khimsar - Mandawa - Delhi
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
You will be greeted at the airport by a Tour Packages India Representative and then escorted to your hotel by private AC car. As the check-in is facilitated by the desk staff you will be briefed on the tour program after which you'll be escorted to your room where you'll spend the next two nights.
Day 2: Delhi
After breakfast, embark on a day of sightseeing around Delhi. Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world, along with Damascus and Varanasi. Legend estimates it to be over 5,000 years old - it is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times throughout its history. In spite of its rich historical heritage represented by it's innumerable monuments, Delhi's population is reputed for having little awareness of or pride in the city's history due to the simple reason that few Delhi residents actually belong to Delhi. The population of Delhi is a heterogeneous mix of people originating from every corner of India. Undoubtedly, this will become obvious during your tour through the city. Delhi is by far the most cosmopolitan city in India and a true traveller's delight.
Day 3: Delhi to Agra (205 km / 5 hour drive)
After breakfast you'll travel to Agra. Upon arrival you'll check-in to your hotel and the day will be available to you for sightseeing. The Agra Fort is one of the most popular afternoon tourist destinations. Of course, the Taj Mahal awaits - the best time to view the Taj is late afternoon to watch the changing colors of the Taj as the colorful sunsets reflect upon it. Early morning is also considered a good time for the same reasons and because it's the coolest part of the day to enjoy the monument. Dine out as you like and spend the night.
Note: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays
Day 4: Agra to Jaipur (232 km / 6 hour drive)
Most travellers start their day at the Taj Mahal - sometimes traveling by Horse Cart to the entrance. It opens at 6:00 a.m. so breakfast usually takes place after your visit. After breakfast you'll be driven to Fatehpur Sikri and then on to the Pink City - Jaipur - where you'll spend the next two nights.
Day 5: Jaipur
Jaipur has many points of interest. Please visit "Local Attractions" to see a comprehensive list of activities. No doubt, you'll have no problem filling your days in Jaipur.
Day 6: Jaipur to Nimaj (150 km / 4 hour drive)
From Jaipur continue on to Nimaj, famous for the Nimaj Temple built in the 9th century. Tour the unique art gallery which showcases sculptural art masterpieces. Check-in to your hotel upon arrival and later take in the sights of Nimaj.
Day 7: Nimaj to Udaipur (290 km / 7 hour drive)
Take the scenic drive to Udaipur where you'll spend the night - a beautiful city of lakes surrounded by mountains.
Day 8: Udaipur
Spend the day sightseeing. (See "Local Attractions" for a comprehensive list of activities and places of interest)
Day 9: Udaipur to Jodhpur (240 km / 6 hour drive)
On the way to Jodhpur, stop off at Ranakpur to visit the beautiful Jain temples of the foothills of Kumbhalgarh National Park. Continue the drive to Jodhpur where you'll spend the night.
Day 10: Jodhpur to Khimsar (95 km / 3 hour drive)
Travel to Khimsar, famous for the Khimsar Fort. Visit the fort upon arrival. Occupied by the dynastic family of the Maharaja of Khimsar since the 18th century, Remnants of the fort's glorious past are in evidence - battle-scarred walls and turrets. After the tour, check-in to your hotel and spend the night.
Day 11: Khimsar to Mandawa (275 km / 6 hour drive)
Spend most of the day driving through the desert landscape of Rajasthan to the small town of Mandawa in the Shekhawat region - famous for its Havelis and Fort Palace. After hotel check-in, take in a tour of the local colorful Havelis which are admired for their rich decorations and extraordinary frescoes.
Day 12: Mandawa to Delhi (260 km / 7 hour drive)
Spend the morning touring Mandawa before setting off on the drive to Delhi for your departure point.

MUGHALS AND MAHARAJAS OF INDIA TOUR Terms and Conditions Important and necessary information about Deposits and Payments, Cancellation Policy, Refund Schedule...be sure to read it before booking your tour Terms and Conditions The purchase of any travel services offered by Tour Packages India (hereafter referred to as "TPI") constitutes a contractual arrangement between you and TPI, and represents your acceptance of the TPI Terms & Conditions. Deposit and Final Payment A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of 15% per tour is required for TPI to ensure your reservation. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit is received by TPI and you, in turn, receive a confirmation invoice via email. TPI accepts MasterCard and Visa. Your reservation will be automatically cancelled if deposit is not received by the deposit due date. Please review your booking invoice and contact TPI if your invoice appears to be incorrect or incomplete, as it may not be possible to make changes later. TPI cannot accept responsibility if we are not notified of inaccuracies within 5 days of sending out the invoice. In the case of billing errors, TPI reserves the right to re-invoice you with correct pricing. Final payment is due 30 days prior to commencement of services, with some limited exceptions as set forth below. If final payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be canceled and your full deposit will be retained by TPI. TPI is not responsible for canceled land and/or air reservations in the event payment is not received by the final payment date. Payment in full is required 30 days prior to the commencement of the tour. Cancellation Fees are as follows: Tours cancelled 15 to 29 days before tour commencement date: 55% of the cost of services booked Tours cancelled 7 to 14 days before tour commencement date: 75% of the cost of services booked Any tour cancelled less than 7 days before tour commencement date will be ineligible for a refund.
