Visit some of Kerala's most popular tourist destinations - see the wildlife and waterfalls of Wayanad, the quaint heritage harbor town of Cochin, travelling upward into the spicy cool of the Cardamom Hills to visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary for a jungle trek, descend to the banks of the Alleppey backwaters and spend your final few days watching the world drift by. A splendid tour of the Splendors of South India!
Itinerary Route: Bangalore - Mysore - Mudumalai - Wayanad - Cochin - Periyar - Alleppey - Kovalam - Trivandrum
Day 1: Bangalore to Mysore (3 hour drive)
A Tour Packages India Representative will meet you upon arrival and escort you to your hotel in Mysore.
Day 2: Mysore
Mysore has always enchanted with its quaint charm, rich heritage, magnificent palaces, beautifully laid-out gardens, imposing buildings, broad shady avenues and sacred temples. There's an old world charm about the city that brings tourists back time after time. Make Mysore Palace your first stop. Try to arrange to be there on Sunday when the Palace lights up at night with 97,000 lightbulbs! ) Another "don't miss" is St. Philomena's Church - one of the largest cathedrals in India and constructed in medieval architectural style. Also, Jaganmohan Palace - which exhibits art work dating back to the 1800s renowned for its use of "gold leaf" painting. If time permits, take a trip up Chamundi Hill to view the grande monolithic bull statue, Nandi, as well as the 2,000 year old Chamundi Hill Temple.
Day 3: Mysore to Mudumalai National Park (2 hour drive)
Drive up to the Mudumalai National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (also declared a Tiger Reserve). Although a haven for Bengal Tigers and Indian Leopards, sightings are considered quite rare. However, the park is home to diverse wildlife and offers some great side trips for opportunities to spot the park denizens - take an elephant safari, hang out on the banks of the Moyar River where animals come to drink, follow the Moyar River to Moyar Falls where it plunges into a giant gorge, bring your binoculars to spot some rare vultures and birds. Spend the night at the edge of the Park.
Day 4: Mudumalai National Park to Wayanad (2 hour drive)
Enjoy the scenic drive through the Western Ghats to Wayanad. Take in the beauty of the natural surroundings - the Kabini River and the Kauveri tributary, set in the middle of three of the highest mountain peaks in Kerala, free-roaming wildlife. Stroll around, explore, relax the night away to the sounds of nature.
Day 5: Wayanad
Enjoy a double excursion to Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and the Kabini River for a boat ride to Kuruva Island.
Day 6: Wayanad to Cochin (3 hour drive)
Travel down the Malabar Coast to the hertiage harbor town of Cochin where you'll spend the next two nights.. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali Dance overlooking the Cochin Harbor.
Day 7: Cochin
Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands.
Day 8: Cochin to Periyar (4 hour drive)
Take a drive up into the cool of the Cardamom Hills. Spend the evening exploring nearby Kumily where every spice grown in Kerala is sold - you'll know you've arrived by the aromatic atmosphere.
Day 9: Periyar
Venture into the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve - take a boat ride on the lake, trek through the forest, go for an elephant ride, enjoy the day surrounded by nature. Spend the evening relaxing.
Day 10: Periyar to Alleppey (4 hour drive)
Enjoy the downhill drive into the backwaters of Alleppey. Kick back and relax on the shores of this beautiful backwater slice of paradise.
Day 11: Alleppey to Kovalam (4 hour drive)
Continue your travels down the coast to the world famous beach resort town of Kovalam. Long an international draw, you'll find it a fascinating and enjoyable way to spend a few days..
Day 12: Kovalam
A day of leisure, a night of pleasure...stroll the boardwalk, explore the lagoons hidden behind the beachfront shops, hang out on the beach watching the fishermen bring in their fresh catch, relax at a rooftop restaurant and watch the sunset...a nice finishing touch to your extended week in the wonderland of Kerala.
Day 13: Kovalam to Trivandrum Departure
You will be driven to up to your point of departure in Trivandrum.

Deposit and Final Payment A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of 15% per tour is required for TPI to ensure your reservation. Your booking is not confirmed until the deposit is received by TPI and you, in turn, receive a confirmation invoice via email. TPI accepts MasterCard and Visa. Your reservation will be automatically cancelled if deposit is not received by the deposit due date. Please review your booking invoice and contact TPI if your invoice appears to be incorrect or incomplete, as it may not be possible to make changes later. TPI cannot accept responsibility if we are not notified of inaccuracies within 5 days of sending out the invoice. In the case of billing errors, TPI reserves the right to re-invoice you with correct pricing. Final payment is due 30 days prior to commencement of services, with some limited exceptions as set forth below. If final payment is not received by the due date, your reservation will be canceled and your full deposit will be retained by TPI. Payment in full is required 30 days prior to the commencement of the tour. Cancellation Fees are as follows: Tours cancelled 15 to 29 days before tour commencement date: 55% of the cost of services booked Tours cancelled 7 to 14 days before tour commencement date: 75% of the cost of services booked Any tour cancelled less than 7 days before tour commencement date will be ineligible for a refund.
