Tour the choicest spots on this north to south tour - the Taj, the Pink City, the City of Lakes, a beautiful harbor town on the Malabar Coast, a taste of the Kerala backwater region, winding up to wind down at India's most famous of beaches among the international crowd- Kovalam.

Itinerary Route: Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Udaipur - Cochin - Kumarakom - Kovalam - Trivandrum

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Upon arrival, a Tour Packages India Representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. Take an evening stroll along the waterfront in the Cobala District near the Gateway of India; enjoy an evening harbor cruise; dine in style at the Taj Mahal Palace.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast you will embark on a day of sightseeing. Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world - over 5,000 years old - along with Damascus and Varanasi. By far the most cosmopolitan city in India, Delhi is a true traveller's delight. The list of things to do in Delhi is endless and you'll surely discover many interesting things to do on your own. Here's an abbreviated list of some of the most popular tourist activities:

Eat Dilli-ki-Chaat; visit the Red Fort; marvel at the architectural wonder of the Lotus Temple (Bahai House of Worship) - constructed out of marble and in the shape of a lotus flower; stroll around Humayun’s Tomb which combines Persian style with local craftsmanship; listen to Qawwalis (devotional music) sung at dargah of Nizamuddin Auliya (one of Islam’s holiest tombs) at around sunset; visit Gandhi’s simple tomb in its tranquil gardens – said to be the most peaceful place in all Delhi.

Day 3: Delhi to Agra (205 km / 5 hour drive)

After breakfast, enjoy the drive to Agra. Upon arrival you'll check-in to your hotel and the day will be available to you for sightseeing. The Agra Fort is one of the most popular afternoon tourist destinations. Of course, the Taj Mahal awaits - the best time to view the Taj is late afternoon to watch the changing colors of the Taj as the colorful sunsets reflect upon it. Early morning is also considered a good time for the same reasons and because it's the coolest part of the day to enjoy the monument. Dine out as you like and spend the night.

Day 4: Agra

Most travellers start their day at the Taj Mahal - the rising sun reflecting on the Taj during the coolest period of the day makes it a favorite time to visit. It opens at 6:00 a.m. so breakfast usually takes place after your visit. Later, visit the Agra Fort. Dine out as you like and spend the night.

Day 5: Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (245 km / 5 hour drive)

On the way to Jaipur, stop off at Fatehpur Sikri - an old deserted town of the Mughal Dynasty, built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to water scarcity. Continue on to your hotel in Jaipur - the famed Pink City - where you'll spend the next two nights.

Day 6: Jaipur

Spend the day sightseeing. Jaipur has many points of interest. Check out the Amber Fort, City Palace, Jai Mahal Lake Palace, Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), Jantar Mantar, Monkey Temple, Tiger Fort, The Entrance of City Walls, and Ramgagh Palace.

Day 7: Jaipur to Udaipur (via Flight)

Hop a short and scenic flight to Udaipur - the beautiful City of Lakes - to spend the next two nights.

Day 8: Udaipur

Spend the day sightseeing. Be sure to tour the Udaipur City Palace where one could easily spend an entire day - one of the most beautiful palatial structures, this elegant palace was originally built entirely out of granite and marble and rises 30 meters above Lake Pichola. Inside smaller palaces, museums and gardens are to be found. The interiors are adorned with balconies, towers and cupolas exhibiting delicate mirror and marble work, murals, wall paintings, silver and inlay work of leftover colored glass. The complex provides a fine view of the lake and the Udaipur city from its upper terraces. In the evening, enjoy a ride on the Ropeway - to an altitude of 500m - and spend the evening overlooking the city lights and dining from one of the mountaintop restaurants.

Day 9: Udaipur to Cochin (via Flight)

Fly into the heritage harbor town of Cochin - the Spice Capital of the World whose origins of trading can be traced back to the time of the Pharoahs. In the evening treat yourself to a Kathakali performance by the Chinese Fishing Nets overlooking the harbor islands.

Day 10: Cochin

Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands

Day 11: Cochin to Kumarakom

Spend the day enjoying the beautiful backwaters - pay a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary - home to migratory flocks as far away as Siberia - an ornithologist's dream. Relax over a fresh fish dinner prepared Kerala style.

Day 12: Kumarakom (Backwater Houseboat Day Cruise)

Enjoy a day's tour on a houseboat, cruising the lakes, canals, lagoons and waterways.

Day 13: Kumarakom to Kovalam

Drive down to the renowned Kovalam Beach - a favorite amongst the international crowds for decades.

Day 14: Kovalam

Spend the day in leisure...stroll the boardwalk, explore the lagoons hidden behind the beachfront shops, hang out on the beach watching the fishermen bring in their fresh catch, relax at a rooftop restaurant and watch the sunset...a nice finish to a tasty tidbit of a tour of India..

Day 15: Kovalam to Trivandrum for Departure Transfer

Transfer to Trivandrum to your point of departure.
