Itinerary Route: Delhi - Leh - Kargil - Srinagar - Delhi

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

You will be greeted at the airport by a Tour Packages India Representative and escorted to your hotel by private AC car. Our Representative will assist you with check-in and offer you a briefing on your tour program.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast, embark on a day of sightseeing around Delhi. (See "Local Attractions" for a detailed list of Delhi highlights.) Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world, along with Damascus and Varanasi. Legend estimates it to be over 5,000 years old - it is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times throughout its history. In spite of its rich historical heritage represented by it's innumerable monuments, Delhi's population is reputed for having little awareness of or pride in the city's history due to the simple reason that few Delhi residents actually belong to Delhi. The population of Delhi is a heterogeneous mix of people originating from every corner of India. Undoubtedly, this will become obvious during your tour through the city. Delhi is by far the most cosmopolitan city in India and a true traveler's delight.

Day 3: Delhi to Leh (via Flight)

Transfer back to the airport to catch your flight to Leh. This particular flight has to be one of the most magnificent in all of India. Catch the morning light rising across the Himalayan mountain range. Upon arrival in Leh, you'll be transported to your hotel. Take the day to rest and acclimatize. Leh is at an altitude of 3,500 m / 10,500 ft.

Day 4: Leh

Spend the day visiting local sights such as the Leh Palace, Stok Village, Phyang Monastery and Spituk Monastery (see more about this day in "Local Attractions").

Day 5: Leh

Full day excursion to villages and monasteries of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis. (Read more about this in "Local Attractions").

Day 6: Leh

Spend the day as you wish. See "Local Attractions" for things to do.

Day 7: Leh to Kargil via Alchi & Lamayuru (210 km)

Take a very scenic drive to Kargil stopping along the way to visit Alchi and Lamayuru - read more about them in "Local Attractions".

Day 8: Kargil to Srinagar (220 km / 6 to 7 hour drive)

Another day of breathtaking scenery en route to Srinagar. Upon arrival, check-in to your deluxe houseboat where you'll spend the next 3 nights.

Day 9: Srinagar

Spend the day on the lake or tour the city. See "Local Attractions" for a detailed list of things to do in/around Srinagar.

Day 10: Srinagar (Trip to Gulmarg)

Enjoy an excursion to Gulmarg. Gulmarg has the highest green golf course in the world at an altitude of 2,650 m, and is India's premier ski resort in the winter. (Read more about it in "Local Attractions")

Day 11: Srinagar to Delhi (via Flight)

Return to Delhi via Air - enjoy the scenery from above - a spectacularly beautiful view. Continue your onward travels.
