TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrive Mumbai

Upon arrival, a Tour Packages India Representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel where you'll spend the next two nights. Take an evening stroll along the waterfront in the Cobala District near the Gateway of India; enjoy an evening harbor cruise; dine in style at the Taj Mahal Palace.

Day 2: Mumbai

Spend the day sightseeing - Gateway of India, City Tour on a double-decker bus, Bollywood Film City, Harbor Cruise, Taj Private Yacht Cruise, Boat ride to Elephanta Island, Prince of Wales Museum, Gandhi Museum.

Day 3: Mumbai to Cochin (via Flight)

Transfer to the airport for the short flight to Cochin where you'll be met at the airport and driven to your hotel of choice where you'll spend the next 2 nights. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali Dance overlooking the Cochin Harbor.

Day 4: Cochin

Spend the day seeing the sights which may include a visit to the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica or a boat tour of the harbor islands.

Day 5: Cochin to Munnar

After breakfast, you'll be driven through the Cardamom Hills up to Munnar - famous for rolling hillsides of tea plantations. Dinner and overnight in Munnar.

Day 6: Munnar

Spend the day sightseeing - trek up into the clouds, go rock climbing and rappeling, go on an elephant safari, take a paddleboat ride on Shikara Lake, visit the Atukkad Waterfalls and Mattupetti Dam, take in the old-world charm of the Chithirapuram tea plantation.

Day 7: Munnar to Periyar

Take another wonderfully scenic drive through the hilly countryside en route to Periyar. Tour the neighboring town of Kumily where every spice grown in Kerala is sold - you'll know you've arrived by the aromatic atmosphere.

Day 8: Periyar

Visit the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and Tiger Reserve.

Day 9: Periyar to Kumarakom on the Backwaters

Descend to the backwaters of Kumarkom - the Rice Bowl of Kerala. Kumarkom rests along the shores of Lake Vembanad, the largest freshwater lake in Kerala. Abundant in fish and fowl, coconut and palm groves and rice paddies, it's a virtual feast for the eyes. Relax and take it all in under nature's canopy.

Day 10: Kumarakom

Spend the day enjoying the beautiful backwaters - rent a canoe or houseboat for a day's tour of local canals, lagoons and hidden waterways. Pay a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary - home to migratory flocks as far away as Siberia - an ornithologist's dream. Relax over a fresh fish dinner prepared Kerala style.

Day 11: Kumarakom to Mararikulam

Leave the backwaters behind and arrive at one of the most isolated and pristine beaches of Kerala - Marari.

Day 12 & 13: Mararikulam

Golden sand, swaying palms, sounds of the surf, a wonderful resort to cater to your every need, fresh seafood...pure relaxation for two luxurious days on the shores of the Malabar Coast.

Day 14: Mararikulam to Cochin for Departure Transfer

Transfer to Cochin to your point of departure.
