Travel the Royal India route and visit the dynastic seat of the Mughal empire, take in the desert forts of Rajasthan, and the peaceful lakes in Pushkar and Udaipur. The Taj Mahal awaits - see it from all points in Agra and observe it's changing hues throughout the day.

Itinerary Route: Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Pushkar - Udaipur - Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Bikaner - Mandawa - Delhi

Day 1: Delhi

You will be greeted at the airport by a Tour Packages India Representative and then escorted to your hotel by private AC car. As the check-in is facilitated by the desk staff you will be briefed on the tour program after which you'll be escorted to your room where you'll spend the next two nights.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast you will embark on a day of sightseeing around Delhi. Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world, along with Damascus and Varanasi. Legend estimates it to be over 5,000 years old - it is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times throughout its history. In spite of its rich historical heritage represented by it's innumerable monuments, Delhi's population is reputed for having little awareness of or pride in the city's history due to the simple reason that few Delhi residents actually belong to Delhi. The population of Delhi is a heterogeneous mix of people originating from every corner of India. Undoubtedly, this will become obvious during your tour through the city. Delhi is by far the most cosmopolitan city in India and a true traveller's delight.

Day 3: Delhi to Agra (205 km / 5 hour drive)

After breakfast you'll travel to Agra. Upon arrival you'll check-in to your hotel and the day will be available to you for sightseeing. The Agra Fort is one of the most popular afternoon tourist destinations. Of course, the Taj Mahal awaits - the best time to view the Taj is late afternoon to watch the changing colors of the Taj as the colorful sunsets reflect upon it. Early morning is also considered a good time for the same reasons and because it's the coolest part of the day to enjoy the monument. Dine out as you like and spend the night.

Note: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays

Day 4: Agra to Jaipur (232 km / 6 hour drive)

Most travellers start their day at the Taj Mahal - sometimes traveling by Horse Cart to the entrance. It opens at 6:00 a.m. so breakfast usually takes place after your visit. After breakfast you'll be driven to Fatehpur Sikri and then on to the Pink City - Jaipur - where you'll spend the next two nights.

Day 5: Jaipur

Jaipur has many points of interest. Please visit "Local Attractions" to see a comprehensive list of activities. No doubt, you'll have no problem filling your days in Jaipur.

Day 6: Jaipur to Pushkar (160 km / 4 hour drive)

Spend the morning driving to Pushkar. In the afternoon, take a walking tour of one of the most religious towns for Hindus in all of Rajasthan. Attend a special pooja ceremony on the ghats of Pushkar Lake with a Hindu priest. Pushkar is also world famous for it's own Camel Festival when the town is transformed into a spectacular fairground where thousands of pilgrims come to bathe in the holy water of Pushkar Lake, trade their camels, and participate in the festivities centered around the Camel Fair.

Day 7:  Pushkar to  Udaipur (295 km / 7 hour drive)

On the way to Udaipur, stop off at the most famous fort in Rajasthan, the Chittorgarh Fort. Towering over the crest of the enormous Grey Hill, girdled by massive walls and seven majestic gateways, dotted with shattered palaces, discover the "Temple of Mirabai" - the intricately carved 9-story Tower of Fame built in the 12th century in honour of Lord Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara. Proceed to Pushkar to spend the night.

Day 8: Udaipur

Spend the day sightseeing. (See "Local Attractions" for a comprehensive list of activities and places of interest)

Day 9: Udaipur to Jodhpur (270 km / 6 hour drive)

On the way to Udaipur, stop off at Ranakpur to visit the beautiful Jain temples of the foothills of Kumbhalgarh National Park. Continue the drive to Jodhpur where you'll spend the night.

Day 10: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (290 km / 7 hour drive)

Tour Jodhpur in the morning and ascend to the Mehrangarh Fort for a bird's eye view of the city. The Fort is one of the largest in India and offers a very realistic impression of the endless war, the glory and extravagance of the royal Rajput past. The Fort contains numerous courtyards and palaces with a vast collection of folk instruments, elephant tusks, paintings, furniture and royal costumes. Spend the afternoon driving to Jaisalmer where you'll spend the next two nights.

Day 11: Jaisalmer

Enjoy the day touring the city. The city surrounding the Jaisalmer Fort is just as amazing and unique as the fort itself. Get lost in the time in the narrow winding streets lined with decorated lattice work and floral paintings and the intricate artwork on the havelis all the while weaving your way up to the fort. In the late afternoon take a trip to the Sand Dunes, ride camels in the dunes while watching the sunset. Return to Jaisalmer for some tasty Rajasthani tandoori.

Day 12: Jaisalmer to Bikaner (320 km / 7 hour drive)

After the morning drive through the desertlands of northwest Rajasthan to Bikaner, check-in to your hotel, rest, refresh and spend the day as you wish. If time permits, be sure to visit the Camel Breeding Farm.

Day 13: Bikaner to Mandawa (170 km / 4 hour drive)

In the morning, explore the Junagarh Fort built in 1593 AD by Raja Rai Singh, a General in the army of Emperor Akbar. This Fort is a formidable structure encircled by a moat with beautiful palaces constructed of red sandstone and marble. Marvel at these structures dotted with the picturesque ensemble of courtyards, balconies, kiosks and windows. After touring the Fort, take the afternoon to drive through the desert landscape of Rajasthan to the small town of Mandawa in the Shekhawat region - famous for its Havels and Fort Palace. After hotel check-in, take in a tour of the local Havelis which are admired for their rich decorations and extraordinary frescoes.

Day 14: Delhi to Mandawa (280 km / 7 hour drive)

After breakfast, drive to Delhi where you'll enjoy a Special Farewell Dinner and a Dances of India show. Later, transfer to your point of departure.
