Private bungalows in the jungle, lakeside bungalows, beachside hotels, ethnic village resorts...a great choice of places to stay.
Best Time: October to March - temperatures are warm during the day and cool at night. Summers along the coastal areas are extremely humid, hot, sticky and uncomfortable. Monsoons bring some relief but the humidity can still be quite high. October thru March (Winter)
Bhubaneshwar and Puri place a large emphasis on a vegetarian diet and some excellent veg dishes can be found. More rural type fare will be served around Rambha and Taptapani. Orya food is typically quite spicy and prepared with significantly less oil used in cooking than other parts of India. It's a treat for the taste buds.
Famous temples, World Heritage Sites, great beaches, brackish lakes, dolphins, jungle tribals...a lot of diversity in a short amount of time.
